Resurrection Pleiades

Resurrection Pleiades Red world of chaos roars Razed stain glass in ruins Ravished light - shattered shards - Recalls worship voices Radiant remnants saved Reshaped enlightenment Remembered light redeemed Inspired by the exhibit Remembered Light. During WW2 Rev. Frederick MacDonald collected shards of shattered stained glass cathedral windows while searching out places for US troops to worship on Sundays. He labeled these shards and pieces he had collected and sent them home. Many years later he shared the story with a young glazier who, upon seeing them, suggested they be reworked into new stained glass windows. The result is 25 stunning new windows. The exhibit is called Remembered Light. 4/15/21 Contest: Peliades R Sponsor: Kim Merryman

My dear rhyme time friend, the stunning talent of your poetic pen never fails to thrill me. Sam, I adore the remarkable use of the theme "Resurrection" - how amazing! Every line a gem! "Razed stain glass in ruins" is heartbreaking because I love stained glass so much! It's painful to know their shattered history but elating to celebrate their resurrection! A mesmerizing piece from a mesmerizing poetess who has me spellbound in her enchanting poetry. Congratulations for your radiant win. Warmest wishes and hugs sent on the wings of light.. ~Susan

Hi Marilene! Thank you so much. The story of Remembered Light has always captured both my imagination and my awe. This contest was a wonderful way to let the world know of the miracle created in new light. I don't know when the exhibit will return to the Interfaith Chapel at the Presidio, but I really hope you get to experience its power and beauty. Blessings!

thank you Tom. I am still fascinated by this story, born from the pages of WWII, which has captured my imagination. I keep thinking of the centuries of life witnessed by this stained glass and the new life it has been given. Have a wonderful weekend! Over Fork Over!

First and foremost, thank you. Very touched by your message of encouragement. The exhibit and story are amazing. You can see some of the pieces on their website - Remembered Light. After seeing the exhibit, which caught my attention, and still remains in my thoughts, we purchased the book. The windows are truly a salute to creativity and ingenuity! Hope you are well. Blessings of light to you.
