Restoring the Sense of Youth
To my clouded mind I couldn’t so long make it clear
in my old sky called life what else can appear as new,
when it would mutate color spectrum in the New Year,
or what could change for the better for me and you.
Maybe I would meet the morning glow rather early,
go out for a relaxed stroll on the sunburst sea shore,
see the golden waves break as pearls under scarlet sky,
feel the return of radiant youth from the days of yore.
Maybe I would walk on newly cobbled garden trail,
I haven’t done for a long while although it’s nearby,
see how over the patina of flowers butterflies sail,
feel again the zephyr of youth that had passed me by.
Maybe I would sit by the window open on the starry sky,
when I had done this last I wouldn’t for sure know.
The mesmeric moon drizzling silver sparkles I’d descry,
feel again the touch of youth that’s gone long time ago.
Maybe I’d hold your hands, see new dreams in your eyes,
because the old ones withered, not blooming anymore,
see again from azure sea of your eye the glint of joy rise,
feel in the fulfillment the sense of youth I would restore.
