Notes About The Poem

RESTORATION FOR POETS

You set the day down gently,
as though it were a fragile thing
that needed your kindness
more than your attention.

The mind that gathers light
has its own weather~
bright one moment,
overcast the next~
and you’ve learned to honor
each shifting sky.

So you breathe,
slow and without urgency,
letting the world loosen its hold
on your shoulders.

In the stillness,
something soft returns~
not a thought,
not a word,
but a small inner warmth
that reminds you
you are still whole,
still luminous,
still capable
of beginning again.

Rest is not an ending.
It is the hush
that lets the next light
find you.

This is so gentle, Sara. If it is so with yo, that is wonderful... With me, it's a pen driving a stake into my back. Prod, prod, prod.... Different strokes for different folks, Gershon
