Rest On Beloved

For the sun that didn't shine till dusk
For the moon that didn't light our paths at dawn
To the stars that left our skies blank
And to the herder that left the pastures unglazed
We cast no blame nor fault upon you
We just wish you could be here a little longer
A little longer for more memories in our archives
Maybe just a little smile to lift our hearts

We remeber you today for the efforts made
For the immeasurable sacrifices made
With pain and yet not wait for the gain
We never forgot you
Never taken for granted or ungrateful
Just to let you know we are here
Missing you everyday as we breathe
We hold strong and wait for the day of reunion
Where we hope to part no more.

Rest on our beloved

And I too notice your absence, Olufemi. Time to write some more, friend.
