Rest Beauty
As she lie here asleep I watch her breast rise and her eyes flicker
My lovely wife, my raison d'etre, the mother of my child
Yes my child, I see the baby in the way my wife scowls in her sleep
That little snore that makes her lips pull apart, then rejoin
It's moments like this that I see my wife's beauty, while she rests
No make up, no hair dressing
No arguing, no laughter
Just my wife in all her splendid purity
Such a beauty as she rests
She would be in a tizzy if she knew I was watching her
But this moment is for me, this moment that reassures, she is magnificent
My love, My Beauty, Rest Beauty, rest.
