For contest PARODY OF A FAMOUS POEM Poetry Contest sponsored by:  L Milton Hankins

My parody is of the poem (I AM NOBODY, WHO ARE YOU?) Wtitten by Emily Dickinson as follows:

I'm Nobody! Who are you? (260)

Emily Dickinson - 1830-1886

__

I'm Nobody! Who are you?
Are you – Nobody – too?
Then there's a pair of us!
Don't tell! they'd advertise – you know!

How dreary – to be – Somebody!
How public – like a Frog –
To tell one's name – the livelong June –
To an admiring Bog!

I’m somebody! Who are you? Are you somebody too? Then there’s a pair of us – do tell! We must advertise – you know! How dreary to be nobody! More worthless than a frog Who without a name - croaks all day To be a bump on a log!

Wonderful writing here, Elaine!! Just finished a beautifully illustrated book "Judge Tenderly Of Me" by one of my favorites and your tribute is very well done! Haven't kept up with the contests but this surely is a winner!

Stunning write, Elaine. I have been thinking about entering Tracy's contest and very nearly chose the same poem. So glad I didn't because mine would have been dull, dull, dull compared to yours! Good luck in the contest, though I don't think you'll need it. Love, Nigel
