To receive respect, one must have respect.

Respect for the President By Franklin Price 11/22/2017 We should respect the President At least respect the seat Respect not coming from the hill The Donald must be beat He was elected legally The voters had their sway The Constitution worked again Electoral College had its say The media and congress Want the interloper out He should not be the president It's not what he's about He's not of the establishment He's out to make things right The Congress now is forced to work He is their biggest plight They'll fight him every tooth and nail The Nation to ignore No matter what the cost to all Must get him out the door He wants to make the nation great To raise it up again Take away the graft from congress Maybe send some to the pen. Trump would do a little better If he also had respect For the presidential seat he holds His foolish tweets just don't connect He's not a prepubescent Although he sounds a lot like one Most think that he is foolish For this non-Presidential fun He needs to think before he tweets Of the causes and effect Has to do with being President Not politically correct Until he respects the office And stops foolish tweets and speech The recognition he desires Will be out of his reach

I agree with you here, Franklin. We need to quit whining about who became president and start rallying to support him, and on the other hand, he needs to think before he reacts on social media and to the press. Great poem.

Thanks for visiting and agreeing. Trump brings on a lot of the negativity he gets, but, I must say, he stays in the forefront Merry christmas

sorry, My father was insane, I grew up with insanity, though caused by WW2, I know what insanity looks like...this person is insane...without a conscience...mentally damaged....may destroy democracy as we know it...recognition is all he desires...you can try and make a dog stop barking, it's still a dog...my first thoughts after reading your poem
