Resolutions Never Fulfilled

I made them freely in the past--
then broke them one by one.
The hardest often didn't last
till setting of the sun:
I'll exercise an hour or more
each day and lose some weight.
I'll leave the junk food at the store
and fix a veggie plate.
I'll watch TV five hours per week
instead of five per day.
I'll find new challenges and seek
a better, brighter way.

**************************

This New Year's promise--What a gem!--
I pray won't be too trying.
This time I just resolved, to HIM,
that I would stop my lying.

I used to make them with the best of intentions but I'd be lucky to last a day. So now my resolutions are not to make any and I'm doing really well lol. Happy New year Janice.. Tom

The one I could not do is stop my TV watching!!! Great poem on your resolutions but baby steps. Don't try too much all at once!

Thanks, Andrea! Yes, baby steps! Resolutions fail because people make a looong list of promises, some unreasonable. Happy New year. Janice
