Resilience
What sort of clothing would resilience wear?
Would it be plain black or grey,
I don't think so, do you?
It would more likely be something bold and attractive,
So all could see,
To show off all its glory and power,
That it has accumulated,
In rising above all that life had thrown at it.
What sort of persona would we expect resilience to project?
Would it be one of abject failure and hopelessness,
I don't think so, do you?
Would you expect Resilience to be desperately waiting?
In line for counselling,
Living in constant fear of rejection,
Worrying about everything,
And unable to trust anyone,
Seldom smiling,
I don't think so, do you?
Wouldn't it be more likely for us to see Resilience,
Out and about with his or her friends, Love, hope and kindness,
Joking and having a good time,
Standing tall with pride,
For having come out the other side of all life could throw at him or her,
I think so don't you?
So, why then are we ramping up the supply of 9-5 counsellor's
And not looking to Friendships that are 24 hour a day free service,
That can change our persona forever?
Can we reverse the trend of loneliness and isolationism?
I know we can,
I am sure we can,
Hope and pray you think so, too.
