Resentment

RESENTMENT Love once shared, now a forgotten past Time spent together no longer cherished Slowly, we began drifting apart Each person withdrawing into a shell we thought was gone Gradually, hatred began setting in Communication seemed a Herculean task to perform Promises we’re broken Trust became a thing of the past No longer could the fire be seen The binding knot broken Affection grew more for material things And less for each other Acrimony seemed a strange word But here it was, so close to home A laughingstock we had become The gap had widened beyond refilling Our love has finally become a myth Unworthy to even be called a legend The building we hoped to erect Came crumbling half way!

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
