Request for Reconsideration

I am a most well-balanced kid,
so why did I do just what I did?
Flunked from pre-school for one ride
in a Red Ryder wagon on the slide.

True, I am an enterprising tike.
So, I strapped the wagon to a bike.
I charge a reasonable price (one quid)
for every ride and every kid.

When it was time to take a nap,
I told Miss Hot Stuff to shut her yap,
and cut her in on the action,
much to her satisfaction.

So, Mister Principal, my friend,
I propose a happy end.
I wouldn't want to see any trouble.
I'll take my place back on the double.

Is blooming masculine? Because you are one who has done the other. You conquered your humor period and kept the wit to apply in well-crafted more restrictive, precise rhyming formats. Maybe it's just that I've read two in a row that these are my thoughts?? Loved this and will probably address mail much later, having an unexpected but GOOD involved kind of a day. (did u read Kim's blog? disconcerting it is)

This poem wasn't too planned out, it started as a wagon going down a slide in my mind's eye, and then I thought, why not add a bike, and then I started in a film noir, organized crime kind of thing. I'm not exactly following, but your input is welcome. Why can't I get away from the restrictive precise rhyme schemes? Fear? Sometimes I think I used the rhymes to conceal the fact that I don't have much to say.

I like the image of a troublesome boy who is bursting through the barriers to have some fun. I never tried misbehaving. Your poem makes me jealous.

Funny you should say that, because I was like you, a goody two shoes, no - probably a goody three shoes. I think I write a poem like this to live vicariously through my character.

My hats off to you for being a teacher. It's arguably the most important job in our society, and I imagine, not an easy one, although potentially rewarding.
