Reproving

The course, ne'er bar the word enforce
that war is the ensemble, sad endorse,
and lawless art resembles tithing's source,
that then I fight for truth, however coarse!

That madness of engender stays remorse,
no cure could grasp asunder's reinforce,
hurt follows hurt, and wonder hides resource
so that this fear of plunder halts recourse!

This conqueror's theme, this dunder stales exhort,
the slap upon the hand, the blow's report,
reproving's cursed command, resolved report
does start again, the band of battles fort ~

with "triumph's reprimand" . . . . war . . . . still the sort!
