Notes About The Poem

Originally posted in 2021. Our beginnings were fun, as they should be. Today I have out-of-towners, my cousins, coming for dinner. I joked, anniversary gifts are optional. Today we celebrate our 44th. Have a great day, my poet friends!

Repost today in honor of my 44th wedding anniversary

Memorized His T-Shirt Your eyes I’d memorize, emotive brown. I think you memorized those lines, oh you… Tinged pink, the peaks of youth, don’t let me down. You knelt at my curved knee to tie my shoe. I ride your bike on handlebars, so cool. Our bodies fit each other like a glove. Your arms and legs, steady, don’t be a fool… I’m safe as long as you don’t crash, my love. We stretched our wheels a bit too far. Twilight simmers, our experience shows, who cares… Fate linked up with friends - not stranded tonight. The moon is nigh, unspoken dreams we share.
*************************************************** *If I told you, you had a good body* *would you hold it against me - shirt’s bawdy* **************************************************

Dear Kim, your poem is quite a journey through love and shared memories. I loved how each line, delicately written with emotion, evokes a sense of intimacy and nostalgia. As I read, I couldn't help but reflect on my own journey of companionship, the intertwining of two souls bound by time and experience. I loved coming into your world, where each word carries the weight of a lifetime of love and commitment. - Blessings, Daniel

Daniel, you are always so thoughtful with your comments, giving levity to my words. Still busy this weekend with cousins so will catch up with reading soon. We are going to a winery today in my bro-in-law’s party van. He is a limo driver and often picks up the famous. One degree separation but I will never get to meet them…lol. Blessings ~ Kim
