I do not know why I`m so sad While the external me seems glad, Why I wear a sweet shining smile In the midst of deceitful guiles, Why I keep peace with foes and friends, Opting to speak truth with my pens. I do not know why loneliness Trails my grey veins with cosiness, Why I gaze at the distant star Some thousands of light years afar, Why I stare at the sky at night Brightened by the moon`s silver light. I do not know if I frame verse, Out of Lord`s grace or Satan`s curse, Whether I hum the sparrow`s song Or whether my tweets fall headlong, If they impact reader`s heart Or blown by winds, they fall apart. I know not why I cherish hills, Why I relish strolling in fields Why I yearn to glare at flowers, By the roadside, hour after hour, I know not the shape of my dreams Or what their hidden meaning seems, I know not if I shall receive Replies to what I can`t perceive, Perhaps the response lies within As day by day I keep seeking, Perhaps l shall wait for the breeze To whisper replies through the trees.
