Replacement

REPLACEMENT

I champion a different philosophy of life

On a scale line of dramatic and emotional
                                                            Thought
Ranging from hate to love –
Weight dishes filled balanced evenly –

Replacement overpowers the right extreme
The love dish clatters noisily on the table

Hate is left hanging high and dry
Replaced by love
Whose presence is monumentally ponderous

The ideology remarkably simple –
Any thought residing in the suspended hate dish
Is blessedly replaced by love.

Such powerful imagery in this poem, which only helps the reader to see how much value that love really holds... Beautifully penned, Daver!

this is a very cool way to symbolize love and hate. A clever and enjoyable poem, my friend.

Hello Daver, I was just thinking of your page only to find nobody visits... Well I am not much on the 'nobody guy' I mean for 1 thing how would I recognise him?? so I think its all relative, I really get the love angle here old friend, I realise at times I am committed to that same ethos, I get a lot of knocks because of it, but who am I to complain?

Beautiful write, Dave. Love, so simple and as weightless as an iridescent bubble. Having no thought nor desire to own, control, or manipulate, love can empty or replace the 'hate dish'. Best wishes, hugs, Mikki :)

Thanks for the visit. Nobody reads my stuff, except you and Andrea. I simply don't write what others want to read. Well, I'm too much of an individualist to change. Hug a boos daver
