Repels

The heart repels the mind.
The mind helps my soul find
What should be kept for mankind
And what should be left behind

My heart befriends all ‘saints’.
I’ve done my best to acquaint
The innocent lad so quaint
Yet, he has no constraints

The mind repels the heart.
With the heart, there’s no start
No common sense, no street smarts
He simply tumbles and darts

My mind draws a fine line
He does not play with those signs
Nor does he own a pure shrine
Thus, his thoughts are aligned

Hence, the heart repels the mind
While the mind repels the heart
