cannot size up the facial expressions from the context in which said
sizing up is taking place &
already the assumption is that the individual before you
is something of a mad sort---
someone conniving,
someone with another agenda altogether,
for the very act of being
removed from all which seems important to the
investigative public
seems insane.
beginning to feel entirely uncomfortable,
the frustrated, antagonized party gets up to excuse themselves,
hoping to be able to escape the present context so that
back to the watering hole, back to the wishing well,
something will appear which gives that false sense of hope
seemingly so sexy to the hopeless who lie to themselves
that it will all get better if they just think it will.
