Remnants of a love that meant so much

Perhaps our time together was brief, A whispered promise, a fleeting relief. We danced with words, our hearts aflame, A connection that rose, a love to reclaim. With every step, our bond took flight, A fire that burned, a love so bright. Your laughter echoed, a melody sweet, A harmony that our souls could not beat. But like the wind, our time did stray, A funeral dirge, a love that went astray. Yet even in darkness, I find my way, For I am with God, come what may. I recite poems of old, stories untold, Of lands forgotten, where love once unfold. I'll return for the echoes of my final verse, A gentle flame, a lantern to disperse. Whether noticed or not, I'll come and go, Leaving behind whispers of love to sow. In the silence of the night, in the still, I'll whisper secrets, and love's gentle will. The stars above, a twinkling sea, Reflect the tears, that fall from me. But even in sorrow, I find my peace, For love remains, a love that will never cease.
