Reminiscent

my sunshine through winter's clouds
my warmth through the Arctic frost
my joy through life's sorrows
my shield from depression
my flower in a field of thorns
my love—
she was my one true love

A tender, compact free-verse tribute that builds beautifully through a sequence of luminous contrasts. The winter, Arctic, thorn-field, and depression imagery makes her sustaining presence feel profoundly felt, while the final plain declaration—“she was my one true love”—lands with quiet, heartbreaking force.
