Remind

Eyes close,
The body falls,
The soul lingers.
The heavens call.

Did I ask for too much?
Did I have any at all?
Did I even had a role?
Have I fulfilled my purpose?

The more I held, the more I lost.
So I let it go, throw away this failed cause.

My mind is ravaged
My passion engulfed
My emotions in conflict
My moxie is fading

The world will keep spinning
Creation still existing
Even as the children lay weeping
And the shielded sing, cheering

Did the sound of bells ever haunt you?
The chimes of comfort had remind you?

As you lay in your bed
Sleeping among the dead
With the past you had lead
Have you ever heard of dread?

Sleep now.
Tomorrow will come, when you wake up

From ashes anew
Your eyes will open, once eschewed.

As you age,
History will pass, but it will come back
For the next day is only a chance
To try again the last dance.
