Remembrance Day Cometh

When

Remembrance day cometh

And we are bent over a barrel

Trying to discover common ground

If none can be found

Lest us rather dig out all our
remnants of old forgotten
dusty photograph pictures

And drudge up laugh and
remind ourselves of memories
lost

That brought us to keep these
precious keep sake close

In order to ache console and
heal together

And speak only of past glories

Not what the future holds in store

Lest us put off death and cherish
life for a little while longer
