Acoustic Neuroma

http://www.michiganear.com/ear-services-acoustic-neuroma.html

I forget what I want to remember and remember what I want to forget. I forget turning off the stove, forget turning off the hot water, forget to watch my favorite shows. But remember what I wanted to forget a non-malignant brain tumor that was removed. I am grateful that God let me live. But was left with short term memory, dry eye, deaf in one ear, dizziness and balance, no smile and goodbye to a job I loved. God restored my health and allowed me to live! 10/10/2018

Eve, those who love you have also shared so much of themselves with us. Last year told I had P.A.H. (rare had to choose which of3 Doc. in Ga.go to see) Best advice was, "today in your NEW normal!" Thrilled you bless us with your ability to write as you live your new normal. Keep looking forward.

WoW! Eve, The first two lines of your poem was the prelude to a wonderful poem.Within these lines I see a woman that is grateful inspite of it all. I am so happy your health was restored.Congratulations on your 2nd place win. It was well deserved- Alexis

That second verse leads us into your suffering. Remembering, grieving the loss of wholeness but you also show us a grateful attitude that your life was spared. Makes me think of my cousin who was too young of an adult to have a brain tumor. She lives too and I too am grateful! Eve, congratulations on your second place win!

I love your first stanza - humor is so important. I'll share that in addition to caring for my special needs son, I fractured my skull which included my 3rd concussion; I had to quit my job, memory is shot, can't read novels that I used to devour, debilitating headaches. In short, I learned Eve that the depression I had for years was in fact me mourning the loss of me. This is probably the stage you are undergoing. The poem is touching. I shall pray for your perfect way. CayCay

oh how sad, you were left with those horrible side effects. I feel your pain . I am living with side effects of something in my own life. This poem made me realize I could have written about it, but I forgot to think of it. haha!! You did really well with this challenge, Eve.

The emotions in your poem are pouring off of the page Eve. That is a lot for anyone to deal with but he did let you live which in turn allowed us the opportunity to share in your beautiful poetry. Silver lining? Perhaps, in everything there is something good to be found. Loved your sad and heart touching poem.
