Remembering a Friend

Today my spirit hides amongst the shadows cast upon me here by death’s long reach; forever leaving darkness in the meadows; happiness, did sadly death impeach. I ponder our existence in this living; all the friends we make along the way, and how at times our life is unforgiving heading down the path that leads astray. Our time on earth is but a fleeting moment, just a tick-tock in eternity. It’s far from ever being a bestowment living here in life’s fraternity. Throughout your days you've shared with us your wisdom, always lived your life in high degree, and now my friend you’ve passed unto God's kingdom, I’m asking that you save a place for me. __________________________ Rest in Peace My Friend October 6, 2018

Thank you, Andrea, that seems to be a trend the older we get. Reminds me of Willie Nelson's song "I don't want to be the last one standing - or wait a minute maybe I do". I appreciate you. John

I am so sorry for the loss of a dear friend. Your poem speaks of pain and grief. It is a hard thing to accept as we grow older. But it is not goodbye...until we meet again.

My eyes are misty while reading these words from your heart. This thought tugs at me so deeply. " I’m asking that you save a place for me." I understand this feeling. I think many can relate. Life is like a vapor, only here for a short time. I am so sorry for your loss. You have written a beautiful tribute to your friend. ~ Brandy
