Remembering
Remember a time when dragons flew
A time when we cared who we slew
A time long ago where peace was at hand
A time when people took a stand
A time that has passed into memory
A time that saw people being free
A time when no one looked farther ahead
A time when someone cared for the dead
A time long past when dinosaurs roamed
A time not long ago when a soldier didn’t come home.
Remember the times that everyone has forgotten
And maybe some day they will not be as rotten.
The dust will be blown from their white paper sheets
And people will remember the golden feats.
