Remembering

She lays her head down and this pain hits her hard.... She can not take the pain any longer so she starts to yell out but no one can hear her yells because it's all in her head. Dear mother, I'm sorry, I wasn't good enough for you to love. Dear father, Forgive me cause in your eyes, It just seem like I never added up to what you wanted in a daughter. In my heart I know I failed you so you left me here alone to face this world without you.... Dear brothers, Don't hate me for being the cold & soulless sister I was during all the gang fights. For we all know it was beyond anyone's control. Dear sister, Don't blame me for not knowing you. I only did what I thought was truly right And that was kicking ass first and asking questions last. It's a long and lonely road and she knows she is walking it alone. If she could hold back the rain Would it numb all her pain 'Cause she is starting to remember everything. If she could forget would she even have any regrets She feels like running away but she is so far lost in the darkness that she can't fine her way out. She knows that she can never change the past That it's all burned into the ground. If she could start all over again would that change how her story would end......

This poem is a poem I wrote when I was fighting with my own identity. Raised by my father and brothers and abandoned by my mother at birth. I was born into a gang life and for the longest that is all I knew. So my writings are not like most people they are unique in their own ways. -Serenity
