Notes About The Poem
I perused my parent's scrapbooks, finding bittersweet reminders of stories once told that longed to be reminisced.

Remembered Moments

Remembered Moments
                         by Odin Roark

As dawn brought first light
Ears perked up
Tails wagged
Dewdrops sparkled
Little fists rubbed eyes open
Jaybirds appeared from nowhere
Copper and green leaves rustled

Weathered hands
Squeezed generous teats
While gentler hands
Prepared water to heat
Coffee to bubble

Fresh cut bread
Laid in waiting
As churned butter
Bided its time

Once bucket-filled
Feline friends lapped
Playful squirts of milk
As family waited

Back then
Mornings ushered in
Day's first remembered moments
Many knew as love's awakening

Back then
