Remember These Years

Remember these years
Dark and unsettling
Writing your way through the labyrinth
Of looming uncertainty
Finding hope in new words,
Happiness in song.

Remember these years
The years of new beginnings
Finally looking at life through the looking glass
Analyzing what it means to be present
And what it means to be gone.

Remember these years
Where you learned the balance
Between weak and tough,
Knew the mind of an artist
And learned to see beauty in the unknown

so, next time you want to be gone,
Want to lose yourself in that labyrinth,
Remember these years.
