Remember The Sabbath Day - Exodus 20: 8-11
In today's world, the sabbath is just another day
no different from any other people say
but scripture makes it so very clear
it's a divine commandment all should obey
God calls this day a holy day
one which is devoted to God alone
for He commands six days to work
as the Lord did rest as should His own
The work of creation took six days
after this God practised a sabbath rest
this was for His own to follow
for God always knows what's best
The Lord regards the importance of holiness
for He is a holy God so very true
without holiness, we can't please God
His sabbath rest we must ever do
God calls us to honour His commands
bring glory to His name by doing so
we need God's wisdom at every turn
to aid us stand true against each foe
(“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
