Remember Me
Do you remember trees?
Their scent, their sound.
Do you remember hills?
So green, so sublime.
Do you remember grass?
To roll, to play.
Do you remember birds?
Their song, their life.
Do you remember freedom?
To walk, the land was yours.
Do you remember the earth?
The stories you once shared.
Will you remember concrete?
So cold, so hard.
Will you remember buildings?
Ignorant and uniterested.
Can you remember loving?
Both earth and person.
Can you remember giving?
To self and all.
Will you be remembered for being?
Will you be remembered for seeing?
Will you be remembered for hearing?
Or, will you not be remembered at all?
