Remember Me

When I am gone I am gone
I will not come back

Life is best summed up as;
He lived then he died

I came into the world one day
I did as I did every day
I caused some-things to happen some days
And then I left on my last day

No need for me to live forever
I won’t even try
I did as I did
Then I died

When I am gone
I just want to rest
Life was not easy
It was a constant test

In the ground I will go
Mourners might even attend
Onwards to nowhere I leave
As I descend into my grave
There is for me
No next phase

I hope not to be forgotten
I must be remembered by a few
I hope to bring back happy memories
Of those who were
Part of my crew

They might think of my laughter
They might remember an embrace
A comforting word
Or a heartfelt handshake

I am gone
I thank those who knew me
I was a mixed bag but
I tried to love freely

God bless you all
For caring about me
