Remember Me

the stars of twilight might fade, 
       the sun might go out,
and years will wear away the granite;
even when shadows are too dark,
i ask of you now, 
     only this...
              remember me.

     the moon will follow 
            the roads we walked,
through old dreams we held;
look at the wild, untouched places,
and i beg of you now
     only this...
              remember me.

    time sure is long, 
           distances are huge,
and voices get lost over years;
do not forget the words I couldn't say
for i ask of you now
       only this...
                remember me.

let the sounds travel in the dark,
across the empty places that are gone;
when only dreams link our souls,
 and i beg of you now
     only this...  
              remember me.

Silent One June 25, 2026 at 10:21 AM I loved the tenderness of this poem and felt each word... I have been through myself, where a loved one has gone silent and walked away.. .sad, isnt it? Loved so many lines here, especially 'the moon will follow the roads we walked... I think if you have to beg someone to remember you, it is probably not worth it my friend... for if they truly loved you, they would never forget you....
