Remember
There were nights I'd stay up
Keeping watch until you wake up
There were nights I'd sleep off
With the lights not turned off
Your cushy breasts my pillow
Your beating heart my lullaby
The stars looked up to us
The moon smiled on us
Birds silenced by our songs
Songs of rhyming rhythms
Made by our beating hearts
In unison singing to dance
Our days were shorter
Our nights were not long either
Yet our happy faces lasted longer
Forgetting the hunger
We had food for the soul
Making our body and mind whole
When finally our crossings pass
I will walk these paths
My feet without woebegone shoes
Leaves prints bare for you to choose
I'm sweeter than November
Hear this and remember
There were days I'd stay up
Keeping watch until you wake up
There were nights I'd sleep off
With the lights not turned off
Your cushy breasts my pillow
Your beating heart my lullaby
