Reliving

a sinister reminder of tortures of the past is causing me to flounder in deep shadows cast been through this before thought it had been conquered never again to abhor nor have to be endured who threw the flag? why this penalty? team's beginning to lag really need a safety this disturbing puzzle won't release my mind from the dangerous hell I thought I'd left behind

Ya gotta keep on keeping' on Christie. Remember, the shadows of the past fear the sunlight of the present.

Being bipolar poetry like yours really touches me deeply, and makes me want to reach in this machine and just hug you! People say hugs a lot on this site but you can't bet the real thing. So all I can do is attempt a comment instead! And all I can say is KEEP WRITING! It seems to give me some aid!

Thank you so much for your sweet comment. I'd like to give you a good hug too. I'm glad my poetry helps someone. I think that's what poetry is meant to do.

Effective, straight on point, brevity - one of my favorite styles for a poem. A good job, Christy, plus, I sure enough relate to the feel you captured ... CayCay

I hope you find some relief from this pain and worry you are dealing with Christy. Your poem expresses the anxiety and the weight that seems to be resting on your shoulders and your heart.
