Religious Abuse
Religious Abuse involves regarding one's opinions and understanding of God
as superior to others
Everyone else's group and theological persuasion are inferior to our own
Living up to the expectations of the organization is job one
I become less important as I am swallowed up into "The We"
God is on our side resulting in us being "The Enlightened ones"
Obsession with persuading others to believe like we believe is vital
Underneath the pulpit or behind the curtain, a different story unfolds
Sainthood, sanctuary, and soul satisfaction can never be achieved
Activity, attendance, and undivided attention are divine absolutes
Balanced bible teaching is a real cure for religious abuse
Understanding that God is not a hard task master is most liberating
Salvation must be centered in Christ, not men and ideologies
Escaping the grasp of religious abuse is a tall but necessary order
