Relentless Need
on every face
i see replaced;
an effigy, a
ghost of a
past wrung
taut. between
you & i, we
share the esoteric
lie- we were just
playin, just foolin
around- i stand on
groundless ground.
reputable words
(suddenly disturbed)
give rise to the
love; askanced.
so benign, so inclined
to teach away
innocence. the mind
is decimated, the
heart cremated, but
the soul stood by,
fraught by shambles.
you inured me, gnawed
my nerve endings out
between your teeth,
mandated penance
underneath your
relentless need.
