Girls dance on the sidewalk
          spin
               jump
                      in free performance
urban space of joy
               in strokes of summer color
under a blue and white painted sky
                             restorative rays of heat
                             that melt away reserve
like a hill of chocolate fudge

Girls break the protocol of distance
                sugared embraces
                      losing their grip in giggles
                                  giddy, in full steam
                                                  fireworks
in the recesses of wide eyes
for school doesn't resume till September

Brian, you have captured the joy of summer vacation in jump rope dances and ice cream delights! Followed by the relief there is more summer to en-joy! Looking for my jump rope and danciong shoes with the giggles of girl friends! Congratulations. This brought back delightful childhood memories!

Enjoyed the movement, the way you evoked the senses, and the plot twist at the end. It's nice to see kids playing together with the freedom that should have.

My appreciation for your stop by + supportive comment. Yes the freedom + exuberance of youth are tough to hold as we age. (Joyful when we have it.) Be well. Cheers, Brian
