Release Me

RELEASE ME I was cursed by some old witch Saying, ‘Life’s a and then you die’ Now tell me why, be honest please Just don’t tease, share the cold facts She left no tracks and disappeared It is weird, but I must understand This was not planned, I don’t think Now on the brink of a strange spell I’m scared as hell, and taken aback What I now lack is an explanation An aberration of some natural law Tell it raw, with no weasel words There may be nerds who can explain Once again, rid me of this curse Recite some verse or wave a wand It is beyond most people’s skills Clouded hills are what I now see So pity me, as I may be doomed We all assumed it was a blessing But messing with me was her intent I do resent such an evil imposition My vision is already fading fast At last, can someone apply a fix No more tricks, just release me 08 Oct 2022, '2022 Poetry Marathon Mile 16' Contest, Sponsor=Mark Toney
