Release

My eyes grow tired
 weary and tearful of this song in life
the same repetitious stories unfold
 of love and hate and threat and war;

it seems that nothing changes
 this warrior people relish in their discord
where pleasure, lust and greed and power reign
 as poverty and hunger children claim;

set me free, give me release
 and set the world to stir for peace.
