Relatively Speaking

To see old relatives can get you thinking if your health will also soon be sinking. Will you get their shingles, bunions or bad knees? Will you get dementia or need some surgeries? And if afflicted, will you face it well or will you cave? Or might you be the lucky one to go "relatively" pain-free. . . to the grave?

I'm not familiar with this form Andrea but I do like this one, clever play on words. Of course it doesn't have to be 'old' relatives that get you thinking. I watched my aunt (& one of my best friends) succumb to the ravages of leukaemia. It was so hard to witness, but she made us all so proud. She certainly didn't cave but when the end was inevitable, she accepted it with such dignity and grace. I only hope I could follow her example if I had to, though I'd prefer the pain free route ;) - Sharon

This is one of those writes that gets you thinking! I see life kinda like a river, the source or lake in the mountains is God, the water itself is life and we are the fish swimming against a current of pain. Most fish find the eddies and the pools where the current is weak, but the brave fight the current to get back to the source because there is no current there. Just the cool clear placid water of life in infinite abundance.

You have only half begun to cover my old-age problems. Every day I see people 10,even 20 years younger than myself listed in the obituaries. I am simply too cantankerous and rotten to go to an early grave, pain-free. How you been? I like your humor. Love, Dave
