Relative truth

"Normal, a term we all know well,
Yet, its meaning begins to unravel and tell.
A spider's intricate web, a marvel to see,
Is normal to the spider, but a hazard to the butterfly.

Is normal an illusion we create?
A relative truth that varies with each state?
A concept that shift like sand of the ground,
Leaving us questioning what's truly profound?
                                                                                          ~Byeol

Your poem plays with the concept of normalcy as something fluid and subjective, which is a compelling idea. The contrast between the spider and the butterfly is a strong image--it effectively illustrates how one being’s normal can be another’s doom. That’s a powerful way to express the relativity of truth and perception.
