Relapse

A summer sweetness fills the air,
And spring is in the park,
But winter chills their hearts of gold,
And clothes them in the dark

A song is on the lips of trees,
And blooming flowers hum,
But autumn turns them all to brown,
And rids them of the sun

A calming lull is on the pond,
And sleeping shore is still,
But storm arrives to take the clouds,
And rain against their will

A silver moon is in the sky,
And stars are out to play,
But shadow hides their sparkling eyes,
And turns their light to grey.
