At one point in my life I believed I knew the person that you are
All I wanted was to see you become a star
We said we would still keep in touch
That was all I wanted oh so much

I wanted you to show you cared
That day my life changed and I was oh so scared
I told you that my life was turned upside down
But that didn’t even make you come around

You only had to show you cared when you were being paid
There are days I feel somewhat betrayed 
I believed in my heart that we would stay connected
This was the only thing I ever expected 

I wish you could see me for me
For this is my only plea
I wanted our friendship to grow and last
But I have to move on and not live in the past
