You left me
all alone
stranded in the darkness

I reached out for you
but you had already
disappeared

And there I sat
tears streaking
my face

Waiting for you
to realize your mistake
to come back for me

to run up and say
that you were wrong
and you wanted me back

And I would welcome you
with open arms
and a smile

And we would embrace
with happy tears, this time
and my heart would be fixed

But here I am
still sitting
still crying

Still waiting
for you to return
to my side

where you belong
