Regret of the Indifferent

When the world turned darker by punishing the strange, we did nothing. When the world turned darker by punishing the weak, we did nothing. When the world turned darker by punishing the few, we did nothing. Now that the world has lost its light, I hear screaming. Did the world actually turn dark? Or did I close my eyes? I cannot tell...
