Regalo

Inexorable time
Carves the green landscape of memory into precipitous canyons.
It flows with heart’s blood
Reshaping our souls into inexplicable forms,
Sentient tesseracts.

Shall we follow a butterfly down winding trails,
Past waterfalls to a bed of ferns?
My bare feet rest in the stream and I offer you a mango.

On darkest nights my crown of stars
Illumines past and future
With spiraling lambent arcs.
Twenty five years fold into fifty,
Fifty circle to one hundred.

Step inside the translucent halo.
Tell me if a brass key can unlock eternity.
