Reflective Moment

I am just a normal man
No one really knows how I feel
Or even if I feel anything inside
Accept only one
For that reason, I’ll go on
I’ll hide my feelings
I’ll bury myself
In the responsibilities
Of the day
Trying to keep a smile on my face
As inspiration for others
Yet, there’s pain, there’s fear
I pray for it all to go
But, if gone, would I
Recognize the needs of others
Let alone of myself
Thereby not pushing forward
Stepping onto the road of light
Life, it is bittersweet
Taste of the bitter
Look forward to the sweet
