Reflections on Poetry in Tanka

thought as poetry
past present future surreal
pure expressions cure
deific communing in time
softly breath stitches rare rhymes

stillness turns wheel feel
creating cosmic garlands
recognise lyrics
emotions eclectic ebbs
awakens colourful dreams

mirror reflections
nouns verbs adjectives adverbs
ether air worded
fire water earth stanzas
carries stories converses

stimulates seconds
fathoms then embraces faith
promotes perfect peace
forms galore eastern western
feeding fertility flames

intrinsic to life
advances awareness awed
forge fraternity
transmuting darkness to art
wisdom deepens liberty

Happy New Year Ghairo, your word choice here is incredibly intentional, especially the way you move from the technical (nouns, verbs, adjectives) to the deific. I personally think it’s a beautiful insight into how the 'bricks and mortar' of grammar are used to build something as vast as 'wisdom' and 'liberty'. A deep testament to the healing power of the written word. Winter Blessings, Dear Ghairo, Daniel

ThkU for comment, DHR. Best intentions your way for 2026. To be honest, I’m not sure I know how to b intentional : just write what comes. Sometimes it’s ok, sometimes just junkie-punky. X.
