Reflections of a Wandering Mind

Wain moon waits
Silver cloud
Pillowed head,
Dreams, dreamed,
The sun awakes
Silent mind listens
Lipless whistles,
Dance leaves dance,
Crayon rainbow
Melting pot spilt,
Burnt sugar in Maple flavor,
Dipped in morning dew
Fingers linger
Warm rays caress
Mid-day,
Lost twilight mage
Magic glitter drips
Lengthened shadows, smell of earth
Time stream,
Flows
Eve of tomorrow
Purple fire
Darkness awaits
Cyclops sky
Where he hides
The mind’s eye
Face of the moon,
Blinks indifference

It's really cool the way the poem itself "wanders" with the short lines and the great imagery. Very nice one, Ralph.

Thanks Andrea, latest, yes, greatest, I hope not. It is actually about the sun traversing an ever changing sky through a day from sunrise till dusk, how in early morning the moon casts silver highlights onto the soft clouds as they melt in a rainbow of colors like the crayons melting into a burnt caramel as the sun rises which warms the earth causing the breeze to blow through trees. Then by mid-day the magic of night is gone and the rain falls creating a musky fragrance of dirt amongst the growing shadows, but time never stops and the purple ending of a beautiful sunset gives way to the indifferent moon. Too much explanation, I know.

Thank you Silent One. Written while my mind was still half asleep before life crowded back in to it.
