Reflections I Thought I'D Never Have

We just had Christmas
and I got to thinking
about events that are real.
Funny about that...now they are real
only because we visit them again
in memory.

I think I want to have
more real experiences--
save them up from now on,
until it's time to go.
I think perhaps these folks
are even better than the photos
that they leave behind.  Now
only I may lose or find them.

Whoops!  What joy, then
when it comes my turn
to stumble off the path;
they'll come along,
alive as anything!
