Reflections

The way a rose would wilt The depths of a search gone astray This much I do pray When its all said and done just give me Jesus When the rules tend to be no fun The light hurts at times stunned as in frozen with time I'm blind in a mess that would loosen this rhyme Kenny G playing nice in the back ground at the airport An unusual request to leave behind the mess Here I must confess; Shattered fragments on the patio floor Onto something yet so much more, A rose stands out still as a memory for two Shattered glass we will pass the way before Let us seek to even the score We lay awake at night still frantic as ever before, In our thoughts still with a glimpse of laughter The marble on the tile floor Cobwebs surround us now as in an illusion caught in time Broke and all alone down to my last thin dime Yet with time a typical rhyme may rise Beneath the garb of compromise from all its twisted lies We look again to see our reflection in the pool of water It cries out to touch the emblem of self yet With a cry it will tear back an emotion with a shrug Alone again with a sorrowful friend Pick up the pieces from within
